Basic Obedience Classes
"Basic Obedience for the Family Pet" (Classes held at various venues throughout Northern Ireland)

All dogs from an early age must be taught the basic elements of obedience if they are to become acceptable members of your household and society at large.

Keith’s motto is ‘I don’t train dogs; I teach owners how to train their dogs’.

His ‘Think Dog’ Obedience & Behaviour programme is conducted over a six week training period at various venues throughout Northern Ireland. As well as training your dog to the usual heel, sit, stay and come, Keith covers all aspects of dog psychology and behaviour and socialisation and instructs you, the owner, in essential canine etiquette such as the legalities of owning a dog as well as nutrition, grooming and other aspects of your dog’s welfare. By the end of the six week training programme you and your dog, will become long lasting friends in every way and your lives together will be enhanced forever.

Training your dog to an acceptable level of obedience is an essential requirement if you and your dog are to co-exist in a harmonious relationship, not only within the family circle, but within society as a whole. Whilst attending our ‘Think Dog’ obedience course your dog will learn to obey you and behave in a proper manner, not because it fears you but because it loves you. Keith will endeavour to show you by tried and trusted methods his uniquely developed Copperbirch formula for dog training which combines the art of obedience and the use of dog psychology and behaviour. Keith methods are based on timely, consistent, reward without the need for tit-bits. He believes that a dog should respond to your commands because it loves and respects you and not because you are bribing it with food. Keith will teach you how to set boundaries and become your dog’s pack leader in a very calm assertive way without the need for intimidation or bullying. Once you have channelled into your dog’s level of learning and understand the procedures, the results will astound you! It is a definite, overwhelming feeling of pride for both you and your dog.
