Joyce Wortley Richhill Co.Armagh I have two Shih Tzu's, Max and Mindy. Both dogs were fine by themselves. But we had a big problem. When meeting or seeing another dog even on TV they would go crazy and Mindy became very aggressive. When we were out together for exercise it was a nightmare if we met other dogs, and walks that should have been fun had me ready to rehome Mindy. Taking them to Keith at Copperbirch was my last hope. I really didnt think anyone could help with what I saw as a real behavioural problem. Within 2 weeks of receiving private obedience tuition from Keith at the Copperbirch Centre, Max and Mindy are now able to interact with other dogs without showing aggression. Keith has taught me how to control both of my dogs and I can now take them anywhere. Thank you Copperbirch.
| Philip Corr, Magherafelt, Co. Derry Diesel, my two year old Doberman, was beyond training according to most people who encountered him and I was beginning to agree. Hard to manage on the road, easily distracted and fond of running out of sight when in open areas I was getting increasingly worried about my own ability to control Diesel and contemplating re-homing him. This summer I travelled to Germany for three weeks and while I was away Keith Mathews took Diesel for a residential training course. Diesel is now walking to heel and easy to manage on the roads. He sits on command and is attentive to all my instructions. He never wanders too far when off the lead and is even responding to new training exercises based on Keith's advice. I am delighted with the results and cannot thank Copperbirch enough for all their hard work, personal attention and sound advice.
| Donald Graham - Richhill, Co. Armagh "We could never walk Zach on a lead in a public place or bring him near other animals; we are now able to do both"
| Trish Watson, Gilford, Co. Down Never missing a lesson for 6 months with another trainer, I was losing hope in ever training Charlie my cocker spaniel. The attitude of this trainer was 'its a cocker spaniel what do you expect' I searched for other trainers as I wanted a pet that could be controlled in an obedient manner. Thankfully I was given the name of Copperbirch and I enrolled for a six week course with Keith Mathews and have never looked back. We got individual attention at the sessions, advice on training, grooming and diet, I now have a dog that is a pleasure to take anywhere, for a dog that was too thick to train you have worked miracles. Thanks Keith.
| Michael McAviney, Tandragee, Co. Armagh Nellie is a mature King Charles Cavalier Spaniel, ten years young. She has been my loyal friend and companion since she first adopted me. When Nellie first arrived in our home we decided to have her obedience trained. We contacted Keith at Copperbirch and for the next number of weeks Nellie and I had great fun together. Nellie is now a sprightly ‘Pensioner’ full of beans and loves her daily walk. However like all pensioners she has had her problems over the years. She is now profoundly deaf. This poses no problems whatsover. During her obedience training back in 1995 Keith re-inforced voice commands with hand signals. She is now so adept at responding to these signals that it is almost impossible to detect that she is deaf. Well done Keith! I now pretend to strangers that she can read my lips! Occasionally over the years I have contacted Copperbirch with queries relating to Nellies’ wellbeing. Nutrition, weight control and general health issues. Keith and his staff immediately gave me all the time necessary to re-assure and advise me. A friend indeed. Thank You Copperbirch. Nellie and I have still a few more miles on the clock and we are relying on you to keep us ticking as we enjoy the ‘Golden Years’ together.
| Kathy McCann - Lurgan, Co. Armagh "Prince has really been fantastic. I never thought he could be trained in any way as he is so spoiled. Hopefully he'll continue to learn - education never stops!!"
